Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Justine Mendy by Amoako Boafo was worth HKD 8,770,000 (€ 927,057) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000 many times over. Admittedly, works by Amoako Boafo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orange Shirt in March this year with an auction result of CNY 8,760,000 (€ 7,656,004).

Die Arbeit Justine Mendy von Amoako Boafo war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres HKD 8.770.000 (€ 927.057) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orange Shirt im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 8.760.000 (€ 7.656.004).
