Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Self-Portrait by Amoako Boafo was worth GBP 550,000 (€ 646,108) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Evening Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 80,000 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amoako Boafo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orange Shirt in March this year with an auction result of CNY 8,760,000 (€ 7,656,004).

Die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Amoako Boafo war einem Käufer im März letzten Jahres GBP 550.000 (€ 646.108) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orange Shirt im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 8.760.000 (€ 7.656.004).
