Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Visage De Profil by André Breton was sold in the Collection Arthur Brandt auction at Sothebys in Paris in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 438.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chanson-Objet in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 866,500.00 (€ 700,824.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Visage De Profil von André Breton wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Collection Arthur Brandt bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 438,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von André Breton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chanson-Objet im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 866.500,00 (€ 700.824,98).
