This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January this year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Marilyn (F. & S. 29) sold for GBP 157,500.00 (€ 178,764.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
