In December 2021 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Balthus, which included the work Autoportrait - Circa 1933-1935 by Balthus. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,680.00 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thérèse Sur Une Banquette in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 19,002,500.00 (€ 17,044,129.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Balthus durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autoportrait - Circa 1933-1935 von Balthus zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.680,00 und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thérèse Sur Une Banquette im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.002.500,00 (€ 17.044.129,52).
