Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Choose Your Weapon (Bright Purple) by Banksy was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 126,000.00 (€ 150,250.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Banksy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love is in the Bin in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 18,582,000.00 (€ 22,014,651.32).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Choose Your Weapon (Bright Purple) von Banksy kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 126.000,00 (€ 150.250,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Banksy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Love is in the Bin im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.582.000,00 (€ 22.014.651,32).
