Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Blithe Spirit by Cecily Brown was auctioned at Phillips in London in March last year. It achieved a price of GBP 845,300.00 (€ 1,002,198.29), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 21%. Admittedly, works by Cecily Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Blithe Spirit von Cecily Brown kam im März letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 845.300,00 (€ 1.002.198,29) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 21%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cecily Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93).
