Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wrapped statues, Project for Die Glyptothek, München (S. 135) by Christo was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June this year. The price achieved of USD 2,142 (€ 2,046) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 1,500 - 2,500. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) in February last year with an auction result of EUR 1,706,500.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Wrapped statues, Project for Die Glyptothek, München (S. 135) von Christo kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.142 (€ 2.046) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500 – 2.500 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Umbrellas (Joint project for Japan and USA) im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.706.500.
