Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cindy Sherman could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 21st Century Evening Sale auction, the work Untitled #150 changed hands for USD 525,000.00 (€ 430,539.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cindy Sherman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #93 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,861,000.00 (€ 2,830,645.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cindy Sherman konnte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Untitled #150 für USD 525.000,00 (€ 430.539,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #93 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.861.000,00 (€ 2.830.645,16).
