Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Christies held the auction Collection Daniel Lebard, sous le prisme de la modernité, which included the work Untitled Film Still, 1978 by Cindy Sherman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 125,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cindy Sherman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #93 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,861,000.00 (€ 2,830,645.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Collection Daniel Lebard, sous le prisme de la modernité durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled Film Still, 1978 von Cindy Sherman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 125.000,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #93 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.861.000,00 (€ 2.830.645,16).
