Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Notes by Claes Oldenburg for USD 15,000.00 (€ 15,099.66). This price was achieved in the auction Prints and Multiples at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
