Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Tilting Neon Cocktail by Claes Oldenburg. The price achieved of USD 8,287.50 (€ 8,028.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
