Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction, which included this untitled work by Cy Twombly. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,939,000.00 (€ 3,484,515.28), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cy Twombly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (New York City) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 70,530,000.00 (€ 66,777,125.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Cy Twombly zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.939.000,00 (€ 3.484.515,28) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cy Twombly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (New York City) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.530.000,00 (€ 66.777.125,54).
