In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Prints & Multiples OnlineDavid Shrigley & Co at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, which included the work Control, from 'The Virtues' by Damien Hirst. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,575.00 (€ 19,206.64), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damien Hirst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lullaby Spring in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Prints & Multiples OnlineDavid Shrigley & Co at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair durch, in der auch die Arbeit Control, from 'The Virtues' von Damien Hirst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.575,00 (€ 19.206,64) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damien Hirst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lullaby Spring im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.652.000,00 (€ 14.323.082,54).
