This artwork by Damien Hirst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the The Now Evening Auction auction, the work Happy Life Blossom sold for USD 5,609,900.00 (€ 5,227,751.37) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damien Hirst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lullaby Spring, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Damien Hirst erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Now Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit Happy Life Blossom für USD 5.609.900,00 (€ 5.227.751,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Damien Hirst mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lullaby Spring beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 9.652.000,00 (€ 14.323.082,54) versteigert wurde.
