Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dan Colen could be acquired at Phillips in London in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Smoke Em If You Got Em changed hands for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,798.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,500.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dan Colen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boo Fuck'n Hoo in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,255,865.10).
