Auction result well in line with expectations
The work God 2 by Dana Schutz was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,714,000.00 (€ 1,405,609.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dana Schutz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elevator, which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 50,050,000.00 (€ 5,279,190.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit God 2 von Dana Schutz kam im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.714.000,00 (€ 1.405.609,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Dana Schutz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elevator beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 50.050.000,00 (€ 5.279.190,52) versteigert wurde.
