Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Evening Sale, which included the work Wrong Objects Saved for the Future by Dana Schutz. The price achieved of HKD 15,905,000.00 (€ 1,727,695.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 12,000,000.00 – 20,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dana Schutz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elevator, which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 50,050,000.00 (€ 5,279,190.52).
