Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wrong Objects Saved for the Future by Dana Schutz was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June last year. The price achieved of HKD 15,905,000 (€ 1,727,695) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as HKD 12,000,000 - 20,000,000. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dana Schutz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elevator, which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 50,050,000 (€ 5,279,191).
