Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Toilet Tree by David Hammons was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The price achieved of USD 175,000.00 (€ 147,083.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hammons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 8,005,000.00 (€ 5,883,433.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Toilet Tree von David Hammons kam im November 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 147.083,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hammons erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.005.000,00 (€ 5.883.433,78).
