Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Celia in a Wicker Chair (M.C.A.T. 158) by David Hockney was auctioned at Phillips in London in January this year. The price achieved of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 12,871.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
