This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in May last year. In the Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction, the work Extending, February (Diptych) sold for USD 22,950.00 (€ 21,386.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
