The work Gold by David Hockney was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London auction at Christies in London in July last year. It achieved a price of GBP 13,230.00 (€ 15,798.97), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
