Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in June last year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work My Window: No. 778, 17th April 2011 sold for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,420.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
