Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
The work Pretty Tulips by David Hockney was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in June last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 24,225.00 (€ 28,142.56), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
