Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Swimming Pool Ladder by David Hockney was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London auction at Christies in London in July last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 233,100.00 (€ 278,362.80), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
