This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. In the Important Prints & Multiples: Part I auction, the work The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty eleven) - 1 January, 2011 sold for USD 176,400.00 (€ 152,700.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
