Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Table de coiffeuse avec oiseau et coupe; Tabouret de coiffeuse avec souris by Diego Giacometti was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2018. The price achieved of GBP 1,808,750.00 (€ 2,044,195.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Diego Giacometti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La console 'Hommage à Böcklin', which sold at auction in October this year for GBP 5,122,000.00 (€ 5,881,478.99).

Die Arbeit Table de coiffeuse avec oiseau et coupe; Tabouret de coiffeuse avec souris von Diego Giacometti wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.808.750,00 (€ 2.044.195,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Diego Giacometti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für GBP 5.122.000,00 (€ 5.881.478,99) versteigert wurde.
