Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Walking on the Water by Eddie Martinez was sold in the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,145.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eddie Martinez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work High Flying Bird in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 15,725,000.00 (€ 1,823,808.88).
