Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work View Across Dragon Lake, Looking Southwest, Kings Canyon National Park by Edgar Alwin Payne. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 62,812.50 (€ 53,230.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Alwin Payne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Mesa, Monument Valley, Utah, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 289,000.00 (€ 185,637.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Across Dragon Lake, Looking Southwest, Kings Canyon National Park von Edgar Alwin Payne zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 62.812,50 (€ 53.230,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Alwin Payne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Mesa, Monument Valley, Utah beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 289.000,00 (€ 185.637,20) versteigert wurde.
