Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Twenty six gasoline stations - 1962 by Ed Ruscha was worth EUR 5,248.00 to a buyer in October last year. This price was achieved in the auction Robert William Burke at Artcurial in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 800.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ed Ruscha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hurting the Word Radio #2 in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,485,000.00 (€ 47,631,364.01).
