Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work New Layout by El Anatsui was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,950,000.00 (€ 1,599,147.12). Other works by El Anatsui have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 2,228,000.00 (€ 2,091,233.34) in May this year for the work Prophet.
