Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vumedi by El Anatsui was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 1,043,500.00 (€ 1,158,717.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Other works by El Anatsui have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May this year the work Prophet was auctioned for USD 2,228,000.00 (€ 2,091,233.34).

Die Arbeit Vumedi von El Anatsui kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.043.500,00 (€ 1.158.717,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden.
