Sold at the upper estimate price
In February 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Ruby Dee by Ellen Gallagher. The auction ended at the price of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,094.67), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Gallagher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deluxe in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruby Dee von Ellen Gallagher zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.094,67) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Gallagher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deluxe im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 987.750,00 (€ 760.509,70).
