Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work St. Martin Tropical Plant, from Eight Lithographs to Benefit the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts, Inc. (G. 957, A. 192) by Ellsworth Kelly. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 9,450.00 (€ 9,512.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellsworth Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Curve VII in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 9,809,000.00 (€ 8,901,896.72).
