This artwork by Emil Carlsen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2017. In the American Art auction, the work Breakers sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,048.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emil Carlsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Pottery Jars in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 278,491.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emil Carlsen erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Breakers für USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.048,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emil Carlsen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Pottery Jars im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 278.491,86).
