Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Evening Auction, which included the work Le Campeur, étude by Fernand Léger. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,218,500.00 (€ 6,726,772.90), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fernand Léger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Contraste de formes in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 70,062,500.00 (€ 58,885,947.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
