Auction result well in line with expectations
The work El Innombrable (Xlvi) by Fernando de Szyszlo was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 25,963.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fernando de Szyszlo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paclla Pampa (Campo Desolado) in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 126,947.69).
