Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work I by Francesco Clemente. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,302.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Clemente achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fourteen Stations, No. XI in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,860,000.00 (€ 1,733,296.06).
