The work Deuxième version du triptyque 1944 (after, Second Version of the Triptych, 1944) (S. 24, T. 25) by Francis Bacon was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in January last year. It achieved a price of GBP 28,980.00 (€ 34,736.20), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 45%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
