Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Second Version of the Triptych 1944 by Francis Bacon was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in April this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 35,280.00 (€ 31,956.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
