Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Triptych (after, Triptych: right panel 1991) (S. 9, T. 31) by Francis Bacon for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,321.01). This price was achieved in the auction Evening & Day Editions at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
