Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rubi by Francis Picabia was sold in the Une passion surréaliste : Collection Inna & Boris Salomon auction at Christies in Paris in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,746,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Picabia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pavonia in March last year with an auction result of EUR 9,996,700.00.
