Upper estimate price exceeded by 53 %.
In March last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Charlotte Tokayer, from Purple Series by Frank Stella. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,448.12), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
