Upper estimate price exceeded by 54 %.
In June last year Sothebys in Cologne held the auction Living Contemporary, which included the work The Hyena (Axsom 195) by Frank Stella. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 13,860.00 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
