In October 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Lithograph (J. 109) by Fred Sandback. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,197.00 (€ 1,036.18), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Sandback achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
