The work Mappe mit 10 Umkehrlithographien (Portfolio with 10 Reverse Lithographs): eight plates (J. 62-7, 69-70) by Fred Sandback was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2021. It achieved a price of USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,615.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Sandback achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
