Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fred Sandback achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April 2021. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Untitled (J. 110) sold for USD 2,268.00 (€ 1,885.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Sandback achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
