Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Hammock by Frederick Carl Frieseke. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 225,000.00 (€ 192,802.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Carl Frieseke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,407,500.00 (€ 2,275,950.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Hammock von Frederick Carl Frieseke zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 192.802,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Carl Frieseke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.407.500,00 (€ 2.275.950,09).
