Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George Condo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Milan in April last year. In the Contemporary Auction auction, the work Fish head sold for EUR 176,400.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Condo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Condo erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Mailand einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Auction wurde die Arbeit Fish head für EUR 176.400,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Condo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
