Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of HKD 18,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 20,650,000.00 (€ 2,290,282.46). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Condo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude and Forms, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).

Die Arbeit Nun And Priest von George Condo kam im September 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 18.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 20.650.000,00 (€ 2.290.282,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von George Condo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude and Forms beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10) versteigert wurde.
